At SPARTA, we understand that you want to switch quickly and easily between different accessories, which is why our bikes are equipped with the MIK system. With this smart system, you can click the right accessory onto your luggage carrier in just a few seconds—from panniers to child seats, all without the hassle of tools.
There are two versions of the MIK system: MIK and MIK HD. Below, we briefly explain the difference.
MIK: Quick and easy switching
With MIK, you can switch between different accessories in no time. Whether you want to attach a pannier, basket, or another item, MIK makes it simple. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to switch quickly, whether you cycle through the city every day or head out on an adventure.
MIK HD: Built for heavier loads
Do you need to carry heavier loads? Then MIK HD is the solution for you. These luggage carriers are extra strong and can carry up to 27 kilograms—perfect when you need that extra bit of capacity. You’ll find MIK HD on models such as the SPARTA a-SHINE series. You can easily recognize MIK HD by the MIK HD logo on the luggage carrier.
How does the MIK system work?
The MIK system was developed to make switching bike accessories as easy as possible. It starts with the MIK luggage carrier, which comes standard on many SPARTA bikes. This carrier features special slots into which a MIK Adapter Plate can be clicked. The Adapter Plate is attached to your accessory, such as a pannier, basket, or child seat.
It works very simply: slide the Adapter Plate with the accessory into the slots on the luggage carrier and click it into place. Once the accessory is correctly positioned, you’ll hear a click, indicating it’s securely fastened. To remove the accessory, simply press the release button and lift it off. This click-and-release system allows you to switch between accessories effortlessly and without tools. It’s designed to be sturdy, safe, and user-friendly, so you can easily adapt your bike to any situation.
Combine multiple accessories with the MIK Double Decker
The MIK Double Decker is a smart addition for those who want to combine multiple MIK accessories on their bike—for example, a dog bike basket with double panniers, or a child seat combined with a backpack. Using an intermediate plate, you can easily attach an additional accessory on top of a double pannier with a MIK adapter plate.
This provides extra flexibility and storage space while cycling. The MIK Double Decker can be mounted in two ways: directly on the bridge of the panniers or 4 centimeters further back, giving you more space behind the saddle. Thanks to this system, you can easily transport multiple accessories at once—without any hassle.
